Age 80, of Lewes, DE, passed away in peace at home on Friday, July 9, 2010.
Mrs. Jeffers was born November 30, 1929 in Wilmington, DE, the daughter of Sara A. McCoy and George B. McCoy. She was raised in Wilmington, DE and moved to Bethany Beach with her husband Carl upon their retirement. Mrs. Jeffers had a successful business career as head of ICI Americas data processing center and later as founder and president of her own computer training and word processing company Jeffers and Associates, Inc. She was an avid reader and started social reading groups for the visually impaired in both Bethany Beach and Lewes.
Mrs. Jeffers was predeceased by her brother, Samuel H. McCoy II. She is survived by her husband, Aubrey Carl; daughters, Lynn Montgomery and Susan Buckmaster (Richard); son Scott Jeffers (Donna); grandchildren, Gregory (Kristin), Mark, Andrew and Amanda Buckmaster, Tyler and Paige Jeffers, a great-granddaughter, Olivia; and her great Aunt Mrs. Edna Armstrong.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July, 14, at 11 am, in Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes. Viewing will begin at 10 am. Burial will be private at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803-0163; or The Seeing Eye, Inc., 10 Washington Valley Road, Morristown, NJ 07960; or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
