MRS. E. E. HARRIS PIONEER RESIDENT OF ATLANTIC DIES

Mrs. Margaret Ann Harris, 70, wife of the late Edward E. Harris, resident of this community for more than a half century and a well known woman died at six o'clock this morning at her home 700 Olive Street, following a critical illness of three weeks with complications of heart disease.

Mrs. Harris was born May 1, 1862 in Blair Co., Pa., being the daughter of the late George S. and Elizabeth Acker. In 1878(?) she came with her parents to Cass County and was married in Pymosa township to Mr. Harris on Jan. 4, 1893[should be 1883]. Mr Harris died Oct. 25, 1923. Mrs. Harris moved to Atlantic in 1925 from the Harris Farm four and a half miles north of the city. Mrs. Harris was a member of the Buck Creek M.E. Church.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons and eight grandchildren. The children are Mrs. S.L. Smith of north of Atlantic, Mrs. E.E. Malone, Ira A. Harris, Mrs Joe Karwell and Leo Harris all of the city. She also leaves seven brothers: C.W. & G.M. Acker of Atlantic; H.C. Acker of Los Angeles, Calif., J.F. Acker of Des Moines, E.D. Acker of Corning, Charles Acker of Chicago and H.C. Acker of Adair.

Funeral services will be held at two tuesday afternoon at the Roland, Peacock and Baxter Funeral Home. The Rev. William Mack, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church will have charge of the rites and interment will be in the Atlantic Cemetery.
