ATCHISON --- Mary Elizabeth Armstrong, 92, Atchison, died Sunday, March 16, 2003, at an Atchison care center.

She was born March 12, 1911, in Cummings, to Henry and Susanna Hotz Wohlgemuth.

She attended White Clay Grade School and graduated from Atchison High School.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Atchison, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of Presbyterian Women.

She was a 4-H Club leader for more than 20 years. She had written an autobiography titled, "The Cradle Story."

She married Floyd Armstrong on March 12, 1935, in Parnell. He died Oct. 26, 1994. A son, Paul Armstrong, also preceded her in death.

Survivors include a son, Thomas P. Armstrong, Lawrence; a daughter, Jean Ober, Atchison; a sister, Emma Neill, Enid, Okla.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Atchison. Burial will be in Lancaster Cemetery in Lancaster. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Becker-Dyer- Stanton Funeral Home in Atchison.
