Sgt. John E. Collins Co. H, Orr's Rgt. of 1st South Carolina Rifles, (formerly Gregg's Brigade, AP Hill's Division (aka "The Poundcake Regiment").
Died from gunshot wounds in Battle of Mule Shoe, Va. May 12, 1864 & later died in a CSA Hospital in Richmond. He is buried at Hollywood Cemetery, Richmond City, Va. Compatriot Tripp Lewis diligently keeps this grave flagged. No marker at this cemetery.

HIS CONFEDERATE MARKER IS LOCATED BESIDE HIS WIDOW, ANN CATHERINE DAVIS COLLINS FLOYD 1826-1906 & WHO WAS BRIEFLY MARRIED TO H. FLOYD THAT DIED IN 1867. HE IS LISTED AS JOHN E. COLLINS at the other memorial. His only son Benjamin F. Collins also served in the WBTS. HE HAS FAMILY LINKS POSTED AT THE OTHER MEMORIAL.
