The source of information for Jefferson Black Campbell is a ledger or diary kept for several years by his father, Samuel F. Campbell. I have a 12-page transcription in my possession, which is an extract of the genealogical data found in Samuel's ledger. He lists names, dates, locations and family relationships for a large number of people, including his immediate family. The extract was prepared many years ago by Sarah John English, State Librarian, Illinois DAR. A copy was located in the Jacksonville IL public library in 1994.
