Mrs. John Mitchell, a well known and highly respected citizen of this community, died Saturday at her home about four miles north of Waverly. Mrs. Mitchell had been in poor health for several yers, following a stroke of paralysis.

Sarah Jane Campbell was born April 8, 1844, at Virginia, Illinois, and was 84 years, 7 months and 9 days of age. She was first married to William Lewis, who preceded her in death. She was married to John Mitchell fifty-one years ago. She was a member of the Christian church, being actively identified in the church's activities until afflicted by ill health.

Surviving are her husband; three children, Mrs. John Schramm, Waverly, and Charles Lewis, Chicago, both by the first marriage; and Ray Mitchell, Waverly; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Dickerson, Oregon; Mrs. Ella McKinney, Lynnville; and one brother, J. B. Campbell, LaHarpe, Illinois.
Funeral services were held in the Christian church in this city Monday morning at 10:30, Rev. Mr. Moss, of Loami, officiating, assisted by Rev. C. D. Shoemaker, pastor of the Congregational church.

Interment was in Waverly cemetery.
