Louis (aka Livinus, I believe, in the Netherlands)came to the U.S. with his wife and several of his oldest children from a southern province of the Netherlands called Zeeland. He must have known of many fellow Zeelanders from Westkapelle and other small towns and villages in Zeeland, as well as their offspring, who were already settled in Sheboygan County by the time he arrived in the 1880s.
