He served with the 82nd Airborne during World war II. He was a memeber of the Barrington American Legion Post 158.
He was retired from the Chicago and North Western Railroad.
Surviviors include 2 brothers, Kenneth Schwemm of Fox River Grove and Clifford Schwemm of Cary; a sister Dorothy Willard of Spirit Lake, Iowa and many nieces and nephews.
