Hugh Richardson joined Atlanta's Capital City Club in 1897. The Princeton University graduate established a real estate and investment business. He and his wife Josephine married and took a wedding trip around the world.

The Richardson home at 400 West Peachtree Street was said to be one of the most beautiful in Atlanta.

In 1926, Hugh Richardson built a three story building on the corner Peachtree and Forsyth street and Carnegie Way. Previously,

It was the site of Jasper Newton Smith's "the House that Jack Build." It was called the Richardson Building and the
address listed in Atlanta City Directory was 160 Peachtree Street. Since it stood where a Peachtree MARTA Station stands

Today, the building was likely razed during the MARTA construction in the 1970s.
