DOROTHY KATE PELFREY
Dorothy "Dot" Kate Pelfrey, 75, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 16, 2000, in Cumberland Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Nov. 19 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Crossville City Cemetery. Bro. Albert Griffin, a family friend, officiated. A eulogy was given by Tony Perry and Rhonda Lawson of the "Chase and Perry Show" of WOW 102.5.
Mrs. Pelfrey was born Aug. 28, 1925, in White County, TN, the daughter of William and Effie Hale Johnson.
She was a secretary, employed by Monticello Canning Company, and a member of the Church of Christ. She was an Avon lady for 25 years, and a crewette for the Cumberland County Rescue Squad for 33 years.
Survivors include her husband, Lester Pelfrey Sr. of Crossville; son, Tommy Pelfrey of Crossville; daughter, Sylvia Lewis of Crossville; daughter and son-in-law, Shanda and Ted Campbell of Crossville; daughter-in-law in her heart, Kathy Evans; children in heart, Randy and Barbara Dinkins; sister, Reba Parham of Crossville; grandchildren, G.G. Lewis-Hood, Teeter Pelfrey, Jonathan Campbell, Justin Campbell, Jeremy Campbell, Jeanna Campbell, Kim Lewis-Tabor and Nicole Golden; and great-grandchildren, Colton Hood, Hailey Hood and Ty Tabor.
She was preceded in death by a son, Lester Pelfrey Jr.; and a brother, W.T. Johnson.
Pallbearers were Teeter Pelfrey, G.G. Lewis-Hood, Arlie Hood, Kim Lewis-Tabor, Tim Tabor and Don Roysden.
Honorary pallbearers were Nicole Golden, Colton Hood, Jonathan Campbell and Johnny Davis.
Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
