MRS. GRANT RIGGS

Mrs. Grant Riggs, of English township, passed away at the Methodist hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, on Tuesday morning, November 25, 1930, at the age of 44 years, 11 months and 20 days, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at the Community church in Williamson on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Chariton cemetery.

Elvira M. White, fourth child of John and Katherine White, was born near Chariton, on December 5, 1885. She was united in marriage to Mr. Grant Riggs on February 12, 1913. To this union seven children were born, Kathryn, Irene, Ethel Jean, Martha, Clyde, Helen and Phyllis, all of whom survive her, except Helen, who preceded her in death almost two years ago.

She was converted in early life and united with the Presbyterian church in English township, and later changed her membership to the Community church in Williamson. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother, a splendid neighbor, and during her life-long residence in this vicinity, had won the esteem and high regard of all whom she came in contact by her many charming attributes.

Besides her husband and children she is survived by two brothers and two sisters, Thomas B. White and Mrs. Grace Patterson, of English township; Guy White of Chariton; and Mrs. Hazel Baker, of Corydon. Her parents and one brother, Roy, preceded her in death several years ago.

To all these sorrowing ones the sympathy of a host of friends will be extended.
