Mrs. Carrie Peel is taken by Death
Funeral Services Sunday Afternoon

Mrs. Carrie Mae Peel, 75, widow of the late Joseph Peel, and a native of Wabash Township, died this morning at 2:20 o'clock at the Adams County Memorial Hospital.

Death was caused by complications, following a fractured hip sustained in a fall three weeks ago. Recently Mrs. Peel had been residing with her daughter, Mrs. William Huffman of West Monroe Street.

The deceased was born in Wabash Township on September 29, 1868, the daughter of Jacob and Frances Cook. Her husband died on October 31, 1931.

Surviving are 10 children: Mrs. Dave Liechty, Mrs. Elizabeth Fogle, Fort Wayne; Mrs. Huffman, Decatur; Mrs. Joe Kline, Geneva; Mrs. Elmer Hannie, Celina, O.; William J. Peel, Dayton, O.; Sterling J. Peel, Fort Wayne; Mrs. Fred Johns, Petroleum; Mrs. Theodore Hirschy, Berne; Mrs. Byrl Harmon, Wren, O.; 45 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; four brothers, John and Joseph Cook of Berne; Jess of Geneva and Grover of Fort Wayne. Five children, two sisters, and one brother are deceased. Ten grandsons and one granddaughter are serving in the armed forces.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Black Funeral Home and 2 o'clock in the First Missionary Church in Berne. Burial will be in the MRE Cemetery at Berne.

The body may be viewed at the Black Funeral Home after 1 pm Friday.
