OBITUARY – MRS. HARRY BELTZ

Mrs. Walter Harrison Beltz died Saturday night January 25, 1919, at the home of Mrs. Maude Burkert, where she had been taken a few days before to be nursed back to health just after the death of her husband.

Rosa Minnie Greathouse Beltz was born in Berry County, Missouri, March 13, 1888 and departed this life January 25, 1919 at Valley Falls, Kansas, aged 20 years, 10 months and 12 days. Death was due to influenza followed by pneumonia.

She was united in marriage to Walter Harrison Beltz at Olathe, Kansas, April 11, 1906, shortly after which they moved to Valley Falls, and which has since been their home. She was a member of the First Baptist church of this city and also a member of the Woodman Circle lodge.

She is survived by her mother, Mrs. Abe Greathouse of Valley Falls; four sisters, Mrs. L. B. Stewart of Blue Mound, Kansas; Mrs. T. W. Holmes of Rosedale, Kansas; Mrs. Nettie Miller of Oakland, Calif. and Mrs. Bert Scott of Valley Falls, and one brother, W. H. Greathouse of Texas, and a host of friends who mourn their loss.

. . . at Mrs. Maude Burkert's home, Tuesday forenoon, January 27. The services were conducted by Rev. Chas. H. Kimball. A quartette composed of Mrs. Lou Hauck, Miss Gertrude Hiser, Mr. Fred Legler and Mr. Milton Schindler, sang.

The burial was in the Farrar cemetery by the side of her husband who died just a week before, where two new made graves mark the passing of this one family.
