Corenia Emaline (Emma) Ward Blazier was the daughter of Daniel Ward and Susan Beckum Youngblood Ward. Her father died in the Civil War in 1864 and is probably buried as an unknown in Little Rock National Cemetery. Her mother is buried here in Ward Cemetery, along with Lloyd and Catherine Wilson Ward, her paternal grandparents, who originally set aside the land for this small cemetery.
Emma married George Washington Blazier 15 Feb 1872 in Jefferson County. George and Emma were the parents of five known children:
1.Daniel David was named for his two grandfathers. Daniel moved to Kansas as a young man and he and his wife Sarah Leota and several children are buried in Wichita Park Cemetery, Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas.
2. Bertha Ann married Stephen Logan Johnson in Jefferson County
3. John Wesley married Maude McConaughey
4. Ida May died at the age of 19 and is buried here near her parents.
5. Charles Edward married Ruth McConaughey.
Emma died in 1890 at the age of 45. George married Margaret E. Downing Asbury, widow of William Asbury. (This is sometimes spelled Asbery or Asberry.)
George is buried here near both of his wives.
