Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church for William Gibbs Hastie with Rev. Lawrence Ferguson officiating.

Mr. Hastie, 78, died Saturday morning at the home of his sister, Mrs. Homer Glascoe. He had made his home here the past two years. He was a retired railroad dispatcher. He worked for the New York Central in Chicago for many years.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Glascoe, and two stepsons, William and Thomas McCormick, both of Chicago.

Pallbearers were Lee Bell, Maurince Hart, Dr. H.R. Beck, Simmons Powell, Roy Clampitt and Earl Alderson.

Burial was in Citizens Cemetery with the Murphy Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
