Miss Mary Dalton married Frank Herron on 8 March 1877 at her mother's home at Palo Pinto County, Texas. To this union, six children were born to this couple.

Funeral held at First Christian church officiated by Brother Charles C. Klingman, pastor and Rev. McKinley Norman, pastor of First Baptist Church. A quartet sang with the pianist of Miss Frances Miller. Those in the quartet were: Mrs. Doak Walker, Mrs. C.C. Klingmam, H.H. Avants and Rev. C.C. Klingman.

Survived by two daughters - Mrs. John Hughes and Mrs. Linnie Willerford; four brothers - William Dalton, Charles Dalton, Lee Dalton and Robert S. Dalton.

Mrs. Herron was the only daughter of a prominent and highly respected family of Palo Pinto County pioneers and was on elf the few who saw this country transformed from a frontier to its present state of prosperity. In early life, she professed religion and joined the Christian church and in her active years was a prominent and leading member of the Christian church in Graham.

Pallbearers wer R.M. Williams, J.T. Rickman, G.B. Johnson, Will Jarnagin, Dr. W.A. Morris, Judge T.T. Bouling, B.B. Garrett, John E. Morrison, W.S. Mcjimsey, Horace Tidwell, Knox Criswell and Dr. H.E. Griffin.

Her father was first County Judge of Palo Pinto County, Texas and was murdered by Indians.
