William George Snoad was the son of William and Frances Melissa Smith Snoad, both born in England. William George was a Union soldier from Wisconsin who mustered out of the Army in Brownsville, Texas. His death certificate indicates that he was buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Orange, Orange County, TX, but there is no monument. The author went directly to the cemetery and the person on duty scoured the records and found no record of his burial. He married Christine Redpath, born in Scotland. They were seperated at the time of his death,so there may never have been a marker.
