Victoria was born in Rochester, New York to William Snoad and Francis Smith, both born in England. Victoria's family moved to Kilbourne City, Wisconsin where she met William H. Blodgett a decorated Civil War veteran.

Victoria and William were married on January 22, 1873 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. They moved to Whitehall, Wisconsin where they had three children, Harry Edward Blodgett, Claire Blodgett, who lived only ten days, and Gracia Mae Blodgett.

In 1897 the family moved to San Jose California where they were active in church and social activities including the G.A.R.

William died in 1910 and Victoria moved to Nevada City, California where she passed away in 1927. She is buried with William.
