Ryan M. Fogle, 85, of 304 Westside Street in Livingston, died Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2001, at Livingston United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ben Gafford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The casket will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. Pallbearers will be Dewey Davis, Keith Davis, Edward Kirkland, Herman Watson Jr., Bobby Yongue, James Fogles, and Duane Daniels. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Adult Sunday School Class of Livingston United Methodist Church. Mr. Fogle was born in Livingston, a son of the late Tillie J. Fogle and Erminia Livingston Fogle. He was a retired Army veteran of World War II having served with the 29th Infantry division of the European Theater and received the Purple Heart, two battle stars and the Presidential Unit Citation. He was a graduate of North High School; a retired farmer, a restired magistrate of 21 years; served as mayor for four years and on the town council for ten years. He was a former member of the Hunters Chapel Hunting Club of Bamberg and was a member of Livingston United Methodist Church where he served as Superintendent of Sunday School for 38 years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Livingston Fogle of Livingston; a son, Jackie Ryan Fogle of Livingston; two brothers, Marion Fogle of North and T. B. 'Baskin' Fogle of Livingston; a sister, Mrs. Monteize Potts of Rogersville, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. The family is at the residence of Jackie Fogle, 204 Westside Street in Livingston and will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Culler-McAlhany Funeral Home in North.
