FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JOSEPH H. BURNS SUN.

Private funeral services were conducted by Bishop E.C. Hansen Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in Richfield for Joseph Harland Burns, 65, who died at his home in Marysvale Friday at 2:0 p.m. from a heart attack. Mr. Burns had been in ill health for the last 11 years.

He was born Dec. 9, 1881, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of James and Matilda Anderson Burns. He attended Salt Lake Business College and the Uath State Agricultural College at Logan, where he took a prominent part in athletics.

He engaged in mining in Colorado, Mexico and California before coming to Marysvale 26 years ago in the interests of alunite development.

He married Miss Eunice J McLaughlin in Salt Lake City Oct. 5, 1921, and with the exception of several years spent in the mid-west, they have made their home in Marysvale.

Survivors are his wife, one son Joseph Harland Burns, a student at the B.A.C. in Cedar City, two daughters Cecil Josephine Burns, R.N., and Audrey Burns, all of Marysvale; two brothers and two sisters, A.A. Burns and Mrs. Lydia Williams of Helena, Montana, Reid Burns of Los Angeles, and Mrs. Beatrice Olsen of Provo.

Fred N. Swalberg of Marysvale ad H. Roland Tietjen of Monroe were speakers. Opening prayer was given by Judge John L Sevy of Richfield,and the benediction was pronounced by Fred A. Swalberg of Marysvale.
