ANNA LEE ABICHT
Services for Anna Lee Abicht, 98, who died Saturday, September 13, 2003, in Whitesboro, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Friendship United Methodist Church. Reverend Charles Hahn of the church and he niece, Mary Lois O'Neal will officiate. Interment will follow at Friendship Cemetery.
Mrs. Abicht was born September 16, 1904, just east of Van Alstyne. She was the daughter of James Bryan Peoples and Ida E. McGinnis Peoples. She attended Black Bridge Country School in Sherman and married Tim Abicht, who died October 3, 1968. On August 12, 1978, she married Horace Abicht, who died February 28, 1996.
For many years, Mrs. Abicht was an active member of Key Memorial United Church, was once president of the Christian Homemakers Class, a member of the Lydia Gray United Methodist Women's Group, president of the United Methodist Women, and long-time member of the choir. She was also a member of the Board of Stewards at Key Memorial Methodist church. She was an officer for the Friendship Cemetery Association and, with her husband Tim Abicht, began the Perpetual Care Fund for the cemetery.
