RUMSON OFFICIAL DEAD.
GEORGE W. EMERY DIED LAST THURSDAY IN SANITARIUM.
He Was Elected Last Fall and Was Sworn in on New Years Day But He Never Served—He Was 63 Years Old.
George W. Emery, who was elected councilman of Rumson borough but who never served in the council because of poor health, died last Thursday of consumption at a saniturium at White Haven, Pennsylvania. Mr. Emery was 63 years old last May. He had lived at Runison 43 years. He leaves three children—a son and two daughters. They are Wellington W. Emery, Mrs Gertrude Herbert and Mrs. Joseph Cassidy of Rumson. He also leaves two sisters and two brothers, they being Mrs. Elizabeth Cordova of Atlantic Highlands, Mrs. S. L. Obre of Shrewsbury, Thomas J. Emery of Atlantic Highlands and J.M. Emery of Red Bank. Mr. Emery was a member of the American Mechanics, Red Men and Pocahontas lodges of Rumson and of the carpenters' union of Red Bunk.The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Oceanic Methodist church. The service was in charge of Rev. Herbert J. Smith. The burial was at Bay View cemetery. Mr. Emery was a carpenter by trade.
