Post Journal, Oct. 17, 1945: Frank Hitchiner, 81, former well known singer, died at 1:10 a.m. today at the home of his son, William A,. Hitchiner, 156 West Summit Street, Lakewood. He is also survived by two other sons, James L. Hitchiner of Englewood, Cal., and Frank W. Hitchiner of Gardenia, Cal.; three daughters, Mrs. Walter LeRoy of Bonita, Mrs. Ray Wickmark of Levant and Mrs. Harry Swanson of Bellflower, Cal.; two half brothers, Allen J. and Stanley Hitchiner of Philadelphia; a half sister, Mrs. Joseph Hall of Philadelphia; 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Born in England March 23, 1864, he came to Holyoke, Mass., at the age of eight, spending nearly all of his lifetime here and at Falconer. He was a member of Chadakoin Lodge, I.O.O.F., of Falconer and for many years in popular demand as a singer at lodge and church affairs. The remains are at the Powers Funeral Home and funeral services will be held there Friday [Oct 19] at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. R. W. Neathery officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.
