ALFRED CURTIS
Tuesday morning of last week, Mr. Alfred Curtis was instantly killed by being struck with an engine. He was on his way to town, walking on the track, and when near the old fair grounds, he stopped to tie his shoe. A freight train came along at a lively gait, was not heard by him in time, and he was knocked off the track.
On being picked up it was found that his skull was fractured, and his arm broken. He breathed only a few times after the train was stopped.
