Owen was the 3rd of 3 children born to Edgar Key and Maud May Salsman. He and his sister Opal Key Reed are the only two who lived past infancy. Owen married Ruth W. McCollom of Detroit, MI and spent most of his adult life in MI. where they raised two children Robert and Barbara. He retired to Sun City, AZ in 1971 until his death from complications of industrial caused emphysema at Boswell Memorial Hospital. He & Ruth share a companion crypt.
