Gerald Clifton Keahey was born February 27, 1913 in Crawford, OK to Ura S. and John Wesley Keahey and passed away October 11, 1993 in the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital at the age of 80 years, 7 months and 14 days.
Gerald entered the United States Army in 1942 and served his country during World War II in the European Theatre before being sent to the Phillipines. He married Fern Jones on March 13, 1942 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. After the war they lived in Durham for 3 years and later moved to his parents homeplace near Crawford to make their home for the past 44 years where he loved to farm.
He was a member of the Cheyenne Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Crawford School Board for 8 years.
Gerald was a member of the Crawford Magnolia Baptist Church and had served as its treasurer for 31 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
He was survived by his wife Fern of the home; 1 daughter and son-in-law Coleen and Terrell Scroggins, Crawford, OK; 2 sons, daughters-in-law, Wendell and Sherry Keahey, Moore, OK and Terry and Mae Keahey of Crawford, OK; 4 brothers, Vern, Crawford, OK, Altus, White Deer, TX, Leon, Crawford, OK and Edwin, Sayre, OK; 2 sisters, Lois Painter, Tulia, TX and Audrey Rorabough, San Luis Obispo, CA; 5 grandchildren, Wendi, Dale, Tara, Chelsey and Clifton and a host of relatives and friends.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 1993 at the Crawford School gymasium officiated by Galen Isaacs, and assisted by Ray Smart. Interment will be in the Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, OK under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Cheyenne.
