Arnold Fitzgerald Smith, age 66 our loving husband, father, grandfather and brother died May 23,1984, at his home.
He was born April 21, 1918 in Draper, Utah to Joseph Lauritz and Melissa Ann Fitzgerald Smith.
Married Merelda Nelson on December 18, 1946 in Murray, Utah. Marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. High priest in the LDS Church.
Veteran of World War II.
Custodian for the LDS Church. He enjoyed gardening, the outdoors, and had a special love for his grandchildren and family.
Survivors; Wife, Draper; sons and daughters, Karen Jean Smith, Marvin Jay Smith, Lee Nelson Smith, Anita Gae Smith, Annette Kae Smith, son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Arnold and Kathleen Harper Smith all of Draper; grandchildren, chad, Kristy, Holly, Troy, Jamie, Leslie and Cindy; brothers and sisters, Joseph Ralph, Mrs June Baker, both Draper; Erma Miller, So. Jordan; Ruth Barthel, Murray, Mrs Wilmer (Wanda) Mecham, Salt Lake City; Mrs Kenneth (Verla) Wanberg, Midvale; Mrs Oliver K. (Reva) Norris, Sandy. Preceded in death by a sister Celestia Mary.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 26, 1984 at 11 a.m. in the Draper 6th Ward Chapel 1617 East 12700 So. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday, at the church one hour prior to services.

Arnold is my first cousin. He lived down the street from us. I remember it being such a shock when he died. As I recall he went into the house, laid on the couch and died, I believe from a heart attack. REST IN PEACE DEAR COUSIN.
