Elodie was born in New Orleans on December 14, 1882 [sic], and had been a resident of Biloxi since 1898. She and her husband founded Barq's Bottling Company the year they moved to Biloxi and she was active in the business until his death in 1943.
Mrs. Barq had been in ill health for the past four years. She was hospitalized for four days prior to her death. She is survived by her son, Edward A. Barq Jr., Biloxi; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Brad-ford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Biloxi, after 6 p.m. today. A rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Funeral will be from Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. with a requiem mass at 11 a.m. at Nativity BVM Catholic Church. Interment will be in the family mausoleum in Biloxi Cemetery.
