On August 17, 1919, Edward Barq married Lillian A. King (1901-1978), a native of Mobile, Alabama and the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles B. King of 1055 West Howard Avenue, Biloxi. Their attendants were Carl Dorries and Mattie Pringle. The Reverend Charles B. Crawford of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer officiated. The newly weds made their home at 221 Cedar Street Pascagoula, Mississippi where Mr. Barq was an automobile dealer.[1930 Jackson Co., Mississippi Federal Census R1146, p. 9A-ED 2]

The Edward Barq resided at Pascagoula, Mississippi for 30 years before moving to Biloxi in 1942. Edward head been chairman of Barq's Bottling, Incorporated at Biloxi since the demise of his father in 1943. The company was founded at Biloxi by his father in 1898 and had distributors in 37 states in 1970.

Edward Barq was survived by Lillian King Barq, his wife; two sons, Edward C. Barq III and William A. Barq; three daughters, Ella Mae Barq (1924-2014); Lillian Dorothy 'Dot' Barq m. Billy Ray Quave (1933-2013); and Beryl Frances Barq m. John Joseph Lewis; and seven grandchildren.

Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home of Biloxi directed the Barq funeral. Committal followed services at Nativity BVM Catholic Church at Biloxi, Mississippi.
