Mr. Seidell M. Blackwell, 73, of Bossier, died Dec. 7 in his residence following a sudden illness.

Funeral services were held Dec. 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Bossier Chapel with the Rev. Merlin Linermon, pastor of Barksdale Baptist Church, officiating.

Graveside services were held at 1:30 p.m. in New Hope Cemetery near Athens.

Mr. Blackwell was a native of Pollock and a resident of Bossier for 50 years. He was a member of Barksdale Baptist Church and a retired operator for Olin Chemical Co. for 35 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Blackwell; a daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Bonnie and Gerald L. Edwards, all of Bossier; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Hargis of Athens and Mrs. Gladys Burnham of Shreveport; a brother, Landis Blackwell of Athens and two grandchildren, Tommy Edwards and Annie Edwards, both of Bossier.

Pallbearers were Jerry Acklin, Wayne Blackwell, Terry Overfelt, Darell Gryton, Tommy Gilmer and Bill Granger.
