Services for Mrs. Dora Kirby, 81, were held Thursday, July 5, 1984, from the Chapel of Dyer Funeral Home followed by burial in City Cemetery. Bro. Paul Fox and Bro. Frnak Vaughn officiated.
Mrs Kirby, of Route 8, Cookeville, died Tuesday, July 3, 1984, at home following an extended illness.
A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Andres and Nora "Roberts" Burgess.
A housewife, she was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was married to John Lee Kirby, of Cookeville who survives.
More survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Dorcas Edward Anderson, of Livingston, Mrs Madeline Nelson King, of Cookeville, Mrs. Joan Tommy Hunter, of Cookeville, and Mrs. Jean Robinson, of Indiana; one son, Odell Kirby, of Crossville, and two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Reynolds, of Carthage, and Mrs. Emma Rippetoe, of Henderson; 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Dyer Funeral Home, of Cookeville, was in charge of the arrangements.
