Delpha Denise Rogers was born Jan 31, 1914 in Joplin, MO to Charles B. and Dorothy(Dennis) Rogers. She attended school in Joplin, graduating from Joplin Senior High School in 1932.
She married Jean F. Eberle in July of 1935 at Neosho, MO and was the mother of three children: Dennis, Jean Frank Jr(Jeff), and Debora.
Although she didn't work outside the home, Del was a willing volunteer in several capacities. She was a board member of the Joplin Assoc. for the Blind, a driver for Meals-on-Wheels, a Pink Lady at St. John's Hospital and was a founding member of St. Avips(part of Spiva Art Center).
Her proudest accomplishment was her 52 years in Alcoholics Anomymous. There she helped many with their sobriety and is credited with helping a close family member "get sober". Her blunt wisdom in the ways of sobriety was known to all who sat in meetings with her.
In 1964 when she and Jean built the house at 1001 Arcadia Lane in Joplin, Del had a special closet built... just for her shoes. She was a shoe fanatic and always had the latest fashion on her feet. She was a beautiful woman who always looked sharp with her clothes and make-up.
Although Del smoked for 70yrs. she was lucky to have good health. When she passed away at age 93, she had no heart disease, no lung disease and no cancer. She still had her own teeth, only wore glasses to read and could hear a pin drop. You could say she led a charmed life!
