James L. Miller Dies At Hobart After Long Illness
Funeral services for James L. Miller, Hobart, a former Carnegie resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the local church of the Nazarene. Rev. Bob Williams, pastor, will be in charge.
Miller, 90 years of age, died Monday at a Hobart nursing home where he had been living for about two months. He suffered a severe stroke four years ago. He had farming operations south of Carnegie several years ago before moving into town. George King now owns her former residence here.
He was born May 15, 1867, in Georgia. He and the former Miss Callie Caldwell were married March 9, 1890 at Corsicana, Texas. Two children were born to them, a daughter, Mildred Odeta, and a son, Alton Othel. The son preceded him in death in 1943.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Callie Miller, and the daughter, Mrs. Mildred Hice, both of Hobart; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
