Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Delia was born Feb. 10, 1917, at home near Arena, to Andrew and Caroline (Doerr) Kraft. She was raised and attended school in the Arena area. At the age of 18, Delia resided in Milwaukee, Wis., for a year, where she was employed with a family, handling their domestic work and caring for their children.
Delia returned to Arena and married Otto Brose on May 14, 1938, in Bismarck. They lived in Wing until Otto's death on June 21, 1994. Delia moved to Bismarck where she resided until July 2006, when she relocated to the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood, S.D.
She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and a volunteer for many activities within the church. She enjoyed baking, gardening, quilting and cooking. Everyone enjoyed gathering around her table to indulge in her great cooking and hospitality. She deeply loved and was very proud of her family.
Delia is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Vonda and Larry Hochhalter, Bismarck, and LuVana "Van" and Jim Nelson, Rapid City, S.D.; two sons and four daughters-in-law, Jordell and Hilda, Larimore, and Jerome and Barbara, Donna and Patricia, all of Gillette, Wyo.; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; one daughter, Vernae Schwindt; and two sons, Bradley and Leland.
