BOGART - Edward Winston Whitehead, 78, of 5671 Hog Mountain Road died Thursday, June 16, 1994.
A native of Clarke County, Mr. Whitehead was a son of the late James Fred and Floy Landrum Whitehead. A 1940 graduate of the University of Georgia, he was a retired employee of the Federal Housing and Urban Development Agency and formerly was staff landscape architect at Auburn University. He was a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and was a member of the United Methodist Church, Barwick, GA.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oconee Chapel, Watkinsville, GA The Revs. Clarke Ivey and Douglas Ivey will officiate. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in West View Cemetery, Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife; Marion Sanchez Whitehead; a daughter, , Christopher Key "Chi-Chi" Huff, (David) Richmond, Va.; a son, Edward Sanchez Whitehead,(Edwina) Mount Airy, N.C.; four sisters, Eugenia Whitehead, Iowa City, Iowa, Hazel Ivey, Martha Faw and Carolyn Wheeler all of Athens; a brother, Harry L. Whitehead Sr., Greenville, S.C.
Memorials may be made to a charity or church of the donor's choice.
