DEATH OF R. B. DRURY.
R. B. Drury, one of the most prominent citizens of Atchison, died of a complication of diseases Wednesday morning about 12:10. The deceased had been sick a short time and death was so sudden that people could hardly realize that the familiar "Dick" Drury was dead.
R. B. Drury was born in Danville, Mo., June 1, 1844, consequently was nearly 56 years old. He was married on May 7, 1867 to Miss Anna Selby in Columbus, Mo. From Columbus he went to Kansas City, Mo., where he published the Kansas City Times. Thence he came to Atchison, where he remained until his death, having been a resident of Atchison for over thirty years. He leaves a wife, one sister, Mrs. Mary Cawker, two brothers, C. J. Drury and L. G. Drury, and three sons, Richard, Charles, Arthur. His funeral occurred from his residence Friday afternoon and was one of the largest funerals ever in Atchison. Rev. Dr. Boyle officiated. The pall bearers were F. M. Baker, S. R. Beebe, M. C. Morris, Geo. Zoll, C. J. White and P. Cochran.
