Ellis Darrah passed away at the home of his sister in Yellowstone April 22, 1913, aged 28 years and 19 days. The subject of this sketch was born in Yellowstone April 3rd, 1885. In this immediate vicinity he spent the greater part of his short life, where he will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends.
Although sick a long time, he was a patient sufferer, seldom complaining but always having a cheerful word for those around him.
He leaves to mourn his early demise one sister, Mrs. P.J. Goebel and two brothers, John and James, who were all present to administer to him during his long illness. Besides these he leaves a large number of other relatives and friends.
The funeral which was largely attended was held at the Yellowstone Catholic Church, conducted by Rev. J. Barry, who paid a high tribute to the deceased. His remains were laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery beside those of his mother and father, who preceded him to the Great Beyond.
