Sarah, the daughter of Mr. John Lyons was born June 19th, 1854, and died at her parents home, Blanchardville of consumption, April 30th, 1889. Not being always needed at home and being disposed early to make her own way in life she industriously entered such opportunities as opened, and at one time she went west to try fortune there.
Eventually returning home, her health began to fail and through the last twelve months she suffered a steady decline with patience and resignation. Having God fearing parents she realized in early life the necessity of living in fear of God, but in a special misfortune probably she learned to distrust all things human and hate all things sinful and to seek the mercy and grace of God. With a steady faith she waited her approaching and ready to depart.
Her remains were interred by the side of her mother, who was buried a few months since, in Fayette cemetery, by Rev. Joslin, in the presence of a large number of sympathizing friends, to wait the resurrection of the just.
