Ascha was the daughter of Alvah & Hanna Gates. She was the 2nd wife of Suel. They were married 18 Sept. 1859. She was nearly 69 yrs old at death in 1905. The surviving relatives were two daughters, Mrs. Jennie Pierce of Morris IL and Miss Minnie Chaddock who lived at home, three brothers, Alfred and Alvah Gates of CA and Frederick Gates of Fredonia. Their son Elwin died at 6 years.
