Eva was born January 17, 1910 in Fremont, IA to Francis Arthur and Lena Dinsmore Rhoads. She was raised in the Fremont area and attended country school near Fremont. Eva was united in marriage to Edwin B. Swanson April 9, 1936 in Ottumwa. She had lived in the Fremont, Farson, and Hedrick communities before moving to Ottumwa in 1985. She was a member of the Sew ‘n So Club in Fremont and the Cedar Creek Club in Farson. She is survived by her daughter Judy Ward and husband Don and her son Eugene Swanson and wife Judi all of Ottumwa; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a sister, Laura Roquet of Ottumwa, and a brother Ward Rhoads of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ed on October 11th, 1984, four sisters, Hazel Aldridge, Lucille Davis, Florence McBeth, and Edna Rhoads, and three brothers, Floyd Rhoads, Raymond Rhoads, and Lowell Rhoads. Memorials may be made in her name or to the Hedrick First Response
