Dies Sunday
At Eagletown
Herman William Cockrell, 52,
retired merchant, died Sunday
morning at 8:45 a.m. in his home
at Eagletown following a heart
attack.
He was a native of Royal, Ark.,
but had resided in McCurtain co-
unty since 1916, moving from
Arkansas. He operated a store at
Idabel nine years before he mov-
ed to Eagletown. At the time of
his death he was a postal clerk.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Laverne Cockrell; two daughters,
Miss Ann Cockrell, Eagletown;
three sons, Ernest of Oklahoma
City, Curtis and David of Eagle-
town; four sisters, Mrs. W.F.
Marton, Port Arthur, Tex., Mrs.
Jack Lane, Overton, Tex., Mrs.
Vernon Luttrell of Farmington,
N.M., and Mrs. Kenny Nichols,
San Bernardino, Calif.; four bro-
thers, Roy, Ben and Claude, all of
San Bernardino, Calif. and Hugh
Cockrell, Eagletown.
Funeral services were held yes-
terday at 2:30 p.m. in the Eagle-
town gymnasium with Rev. Finley
Reid, Pawhuska, conducting the
services, assisted by Rev. C.J.
Walters.
Pallbearers were Vic Luttrell,
L.H. Johnson, John Leonard,
Kenneth Aaron, all of Eagletown,
Udell Nichols and Jack Lane of
Broken Bow.
Arrangements and burial were
under the direction of Coffey
funeral home.
