Nichols died Saturday, February 3, 2001 in McCurtain Manor Nursing Home, Broken Bow. She was born March 6, 1918, in Eagletown, the daughter of Robert and Mary Cockrell, and she lived most of her life in the Broken Bow area. Nichols was a member of the First Baptist Church, Broken Bow. She was preceded in death by her husband, Olaf Kenny Nichols, in 1978; and by eight brothers and sisters.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Janice and Lou Shinder, Paris, Texas, Mary Thomas, Kay and Clarence Pratt and Karen and Jim Plum, all of Broken Bow; a sister-in-law, Grace Nichols Cook, Broken Bow; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
