Obituary:

Clarence C. Bruce, son of J D. Bruce, and one of our most popular young men, died suddenly Saturday morning. Clarence C. Bruce was born in Windsor, January 4, 1871 and was consequently 27y 1m 4ds old. Funeral services were held at the Christian church, of which he was a member, Sunday afternoon, his pastor, Elder A. Martin, having charge, interment taking place in the Windsor cemetery. The services were very largely attended. The Endeavor Society, of which he was also a member, attending in a body and sitting with the mourners. Nine years ago Clarence united with the Christian church and since that time he has lived a consistent Christian life doing good and having no enemies. He was a faithful attendant at all the services of the church of his choice and only the night before his tragic death he was in his pew taking part in the public worship. He was indeed one of the model young men of the town. Besides his father and brothers and sisters, Clarence leaves a large circle of relatives and friends. - Windsor Gazette - 17 Feb 1898
