Asher A. Arnold Jr., 67, of 523 W. Pine died at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, 1992, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Jan. 21, 1925, in Lacon to Asher P. and Bessie McFarland Arnold Sr., he married Barbara Webb on June 15, 1947, in Chillicothe. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Chuck (Patricia) Flagg of Chillicothe; two brothers, Allen of Richmond, Mich., and Wayne of Chillicothe; one sister, Mrs. Herbert (Betty) Newman of Chillicothe; and four grandchildren. One son, Rick E., and one daughter, Debbie Ann Arnold, preceded him in death.

He was a railway mail clerk for three years and later worked at the post office in Chillicothe for 36 years.

He was a member of First Methodist Church of Chillicothe. He was a World War II Navy veteran.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at his church. The Rev. Ray Harrison will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Weber Funeral Home and one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Chillicothe City Cemetery.
