Wayne E. "Pinky" Arnold, 93, of Chillicothe passed away Friday, March 25, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center in Henry.

Wayne was born on Aug. 28, 1922, in La Rose to Bessie McFarlan and Asher Arnold. He married Elizabeth L. "Betty" Hyde on Sept. 7, 1947, in Joliet. She preceded him in death on June 8, 2004.

Surviving are: two sons, Gene (Vera) Arnold of Oswego and Chuck (Pam) Arnold of Mechanicsburg, PA; one daughter, Martha "Martee" (Tony) Lew of Chillicothe; one sister, Betty Newman of Chillicothe; and two sisters-in-law, Ann Arnold of New Baltimore, MI, and Barbara Arnold of Chillicothe.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Janet Fritz.

Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and WWII.

He previously worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and was a teacher at Princeville School District for 25 years.

Wayne was a member of The Chillicothe Optimist Club and Chillicothe First United Methodist Church, where he was a member of the Methodist Men's group and choir. He volunteered at Methodist Hospital. While in high school, Wayne led a band called, "Pinky's Dance Band." Later, he joined and sang in a barbershop quartet.
