CHARLES E. TROUP SR., 80, of 13th Street, Sagamore, died Saturday, Aug. 17,1985, in the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning.
A son of Calvin and Orra Martin [Ora Myers] Troup, he was born March 9.1905, at Hawthorn. Mr. Troup attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Sagamore. He was a retired coal miner having worked for the Allegheny River Mine Company and R&P Coal Company for a total of 49 years. He resided at his current address for 43 years.
Surviving are his wife, Bessie E. Facemyer Troup, whom he married July 3, 1924; ten sons and seven daughters: Charles Jr. of Kittanning, Darl and Jack both of Sagamore, Sam and Ronald both of Erie, Richard of Home, Fred and Calvin both of Dayton. Vern of Marion Center RD 2, Leonard of Indiana, Mrs. Hal [Hale] (Ruth) Sheffer [Sheffar] of Youngstown, Ohio. Mrs. Allan (Betty) Toth of Cleveland. Ohio, Mrs. Edward (Margaret) Haggerty of Jacobsburg, Ohio, Mrs. Leo (Dorothy) Barbarini of Erie. Mrs. Albert (Grace) Betts of Indiana. Mrs. Arthur (Ella Mae) Crissman of Sagamore, and Mrs. Richard (Barbara) Beresnyak of Home RD 1; 53 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren: a brother, Alvie of Dayton: and three sisters: Mrs. Myrtle Ott of NuMine. Mrs. Irene Crissman of California, and Mrs. Ethyl Bish of Franklin.
He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas, in 1973; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and two sisters, Ann Shick and Verda Rose Holbum.
Friends were received from 7-9 p.m. Sunday and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Monday) at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Plumville.
Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., at the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Sagamore. Rev. William Cornell will officiate. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Sagamore.
