She was born March 17, 1922 in Page County and was a daughter of the late Floyd and Lillian Strole Foltz.
She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shenandoah.
On May 10, 1947 she married Hubert E. Layman, who preceded her in death on August 20, 1996.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathie Layman Dove and husband Lannie, of Rockingham; a son, Douglas Elwood Layman and wife Starla Kay, of Rockingham; two grandchildren, Sadonna Layman and Channing Scott Layman; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Bryan Foltz.
Pastor Nicholas Eichelberger will conduct a graveside service Thursday 11 AM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery (Shenandoah). A memorial service will follow at 12 PM at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
There will not be a viewing at the funeral home until the evening of the visitation.
