Feb 17, 1909 - Estherville Democrate - Mrs. Daniel Felky, of Armstrong, died at her home Monday night, February 16th, of pneumonia, aged eighty years. Funeral services are
to be held this afternoon. Mrs. Felky was the mother of Mrs. Oz Neville of this city, and was a most excellent lady. Her husband died last October.
Contributed by Merllene - MRS DANIEL FELKEY - Florinda Brooks was born in Pennsylvania, 1830 [per gravestone 1828] and died at the home of her son E.M. Felkey of Armstrong, Iowa, Feb. 15, 1909, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 23 days. In the year 1846 she was married to Daniel Felkey in Moline, Ill., who shared her joys and sorrows until a few months ago when he was laid to rest.
To them were born 14 children, all of whom are living except three who died in infancy. Those living are George of Halfa, Harvey and Edward of Armstrong, Daniel of Minneapolis, Mrs. O. Neville of Estherville, Mrs. Amelia Howard of Wisconsin, Mrs. Louis O. Bilharz of Orchard, Mrs. Ida Cornell and Mrs. Iva Alton of Fairmont, Minnesota and Mrs. Cora Duffy of Armstrong.
She has been a worthy and consistent member of the Presbyterian church for several years. She was a kind and affectionate mother and a loving wife.
Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at one o'clock at the Presbyterian church, Rev. Siessor conducting the services. Interment was made in the Armstrong cemetery.(Osage News, Osage, IA, March 4, 1909)
