Nov 25, 1908 - Estherville Democrat - Daniel Felkey, Sr., died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Duffy, last Thursday after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at the home and in the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon and the remains laid to rest in the Armstrong cemetery. Deceased had lived longer than the agerage time alloted to man, being nearly eighty three years old at the time of his death.
He was a native of Ohio but had lived in Iowa a considerable portion of his life and was among the early settlers in Emmet county. Mr. Felkey was a splendid type of the true and upright gentleman. He had no enemies or any feeling of ill will to any of his fellow men. He was unostentatious, clean, conscientious, honorable and fixed in purpose. His demise marks the passing of a high-minded citizen and a good man.
