Gregory N. Chittum, 55, of 129 Apple Lane, Hershey, entered into rest peacefully on Saturday, June 26, 2010, at his home. Greg was born June 17, 1955, in Staunton, Va., and was the son of Frances White Chittum and the late Elmer Allen Chittum.

Greg was a former dining services director of Country Meadows of Hershey.

Greg was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Hummelstown. He graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg.

He had a great concern for those less fortunate and gave his time and effort to help alleviate their needs. He was a supporter of Massanetta Springs Conference Center in Harrisonburg, Va.
Greg was an Eagle Scout and received his Order of the Arrow and Eagle Scout badge from the Boy Scouts of America in Staunton.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Holly Ann Stine Chittum; stepdaughter, Jeannette N. McGuirk and husband, Charles McGuirk, and their children, Julia and Kylee, of Williamsburg, Va.; two brothers, Allen Scott Chittum and his wife, Betty S. Chittum, of Elkton, Va., and Mark Warren Chittum of Potomac, Md.; and nephew, Joseph Allen Chittum of Potomac.

A tribute to his life will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010, in his church at Main and Railroad streets in Hummelstown, with his pastor, the Rev. Dr. John Betlyon, officiating.

Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Visitation for family and friends will be from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at his church and beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, on the third floor of the Eiland Center at Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 3211 N. Front St., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
